International Women’s Day 2018: Benedicta Chukwuyem Uweru

 

In continuation of our International Women’s Day, 2018 feature of the ladies inspiring us, we present a beautiful and intelligent lady that inspires us at The Community Girl Project.

Place of Birth: Obiaruku, Delta State, Nigeria.

Schools Attended: Our Lady’s of Apostles, Obiaruku. Our Lady’s High School Effurun. Delta State University Abraka.

Current Occupation: Pharmacist intern at FMC Asaba, Nigeria.

Initial Dream as a young girl: I wanted to become a Medical Doctor, because I wanted to create and enjoy a relationship with my patients. And also a Pharmacist because I wanted to bring the cure to HIV/AIDS.

However I ended up being a pharmacist because I realised I could have all my dreams come true here.
I am a ONE Champion. I represented ONEinNigeria at ONEYouth Summit 2017 at Brussels, Belgium.

She is the Founder of Girls Health and Education Foundation.

Advice to young girls at the Community Girl Project:
You can be *ANYTHING* you want to be. All you need do is work at it and put your heart to it. Love yourself, continually build capacity, celebrate yourself, love others and most importantly love God!
