Who We Are

We are committed to building a world where all coastal dwellers live a fulfilled life.
Coastal and Marine Areas Development Initiative (CMADI) is a non-governmental organization incorporated in December 2010. It was birthed due to the need to address several challenges in the coastal communities. We are in the heart of the Niger Delta collaborating with people and organizations to promote and improve sustainable development. Our focus is on the empowerment of the people in the coastal communities through capacity building and development. This will result in increasing the chances of them living a better life.
CMADI has been engaged to work with notable development organizations in community development. Some of CMADIs previous projects were focused on the following:
- Conducting Peaceable Livelihood Assessment for Community Engagement and Sustainable Livelihoods and Biodiversity Project (SLBP)
- Promoting value chains development toward poverty and crisis reductions
- Training entrepreneurs and other organizations
- Energy and environmental conservation and training
- Youth and women empowerment

What makes us different?

Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH)
Health programs organized by CMADI help to improve the health, safety, and well-being of people, especially women, and children. We started a WASH sensitization program at schools, communities, and health centers across the Niger Delta that invites us to educate their audiences.

Biodiversity Conservation and Environmental Sustainability
CMADI supports actions geared towards achieving affordable energy and environmental conservation in the local communities.

Techno-Entrepreneurship Promotion
CMADI promotes inclusive and sustainable human development and works to reduce poverty in all its dimensions. We focus our efforts on making growth and trade benefit everyone in rural communities.
